This is a depraved little corner of the internet where I will, from time to time, gush about things that I love.
My former internet home, bloodandsleaze.com, was host to a ton of reviews. I don’t want to do that again as there are plenty of other great places online to get reviews.
All I want to do here is write about small moments in larger works that, for one reason or another, really stuck with me. These are the moments that I find myself rewinding over and over, talking endlessly about, or just saying, “What the hell?”
Usually these moments happen in movies I love, but not always. Even if I don’t care for the entire work, every moment that becomes part of my collection here has brought me joy repeatedly.

I tried writing reviews years ago and realized that I would often get hung up on a few small details. I finally had to drop the pretense of writing proper reviews.

Ah man I wish I’d thought of it first!!! It’s such a good idea and means you can share literally anything you pick up on, with your readers, without having to explain why or what or how.
Sometimes writing a review is easier said than done if you don’t want to tackle it in the traditional sense (which I rarely do either). Is your other site still going though?
I’m trying to think of examples of ‘smaller’ moments I really liked in movies now haha!

It does feel kind of liberating that way. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out an angle to approach a movie. Even here, I felt like it took me a few posts to figure out what I was trying to do.
The old site was called bloodandsleaze.com. I did it with 2 other guys, but it was getting expensive to maintain and our lives were all changing. I think most of the content is on an old computer. It might be fun/embarrassing to look back at what I was writing 15-16 years ago.
